This is a list I'll be continuously updating with my favorite writings as I think of them or find more.
Every one of these is worth your time.
If you have any reading recommendations for stuff similar to this, shoot me an email. I'd love to hear about it
Books:
We Learn Nothing by Tim Kreider
This is my all time favorite book. It's so human. I've never read anything more vulnerable. We Learn Nothing had me burst out laughing, cry, feel seen, and feel disgusted in ways I haven't felt before or since.
Just read the first short story that is free in the google books link attached and if you're anything like me you'll be hooked.
Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman
This is a very popular favorite for physics lovers, but for good reason. Feynman's books and lectures on physics and education are amazing too but this book takes the cake. It's a collection of short stories from his writings and life. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the man that motivated so many students.
He's not perfect, but his curiousity and love of life are infectious and they seep through the pages.
Articles:
The Grug Brained Developer
An amazing reminder to keep things simple. I feel like this should be mandatory reading in any C.S. degree.

You Are NOT Dumb, You Just Lack the Prerequisites
A short and sweet post, but one that rings especially true. I know that if I can stay humble and start with the basics, I can learn anything. Nothing is tru ly out of reach, and if it feels that way, then that's your cue to go strengthen your foundation. (Also I'm a huge fan of the the website's aesthic and may try to copy it some day for my personal site)
